Alica Schmidt commemorated her 2024 Olympics experience with a permanent tribute.
The German track and field competitor, dubbed the “world’s sexiest athlete” by various publications over the years, revealed Tuesday she got her “first and only tattoo.”
In a series of Instagram Stories shared with her 5.8 million followers, Schmidt — who participated in the women’s 4x400m relay and the mixed 4x400m relay at this summer’s Paris Games — can be seen getting the Olympic rings inked on the side of her upper thigh.
“I’m sooo happy!!” Schmidt exclaimed in a separate post. “It turned out exactly how I wanted it.”
The tattoo revelation comes months after Schmidt competed in Paris.
Although she did not medal in her events, Schmidt took away many lessons from a ride she called “an emotional rollercoaster.”
“The Olympics are not just about winning medals. It‘s about being alongside inspiring athletes while competing at the highest level. Showing ambition, celebrating diversity and people no matter who they are and where they are from,” Schmidt wrote in an Aug. 14 Instagram post.
“The past weeks were an emotional rollercoaster and I was able to learn a lot. As an athlete I am still not where I want to be and maybe I will never be. But the one thing that is for sure: I will never stop trying and figuring out ways to improve. I love taking you guys with me on this journey and hope to inspire young athletes and show how amazing this sport can be!”
She concluded her post with encouraging words to prospective Olympians.
“To those athletes who didn‘t make it to Paris this year, never stop believing in yourself. It‘s a bumpy road and one day all your hard work will eventually pay off!” Schmidt exclaimed.
The Boss athlete and model ventured to the Maldives after the Paris Games, where she soaked up R&R in “paradise.”
“Arrived in paradise,” Schmidt captioned a post from early October.
The two-time Olympian — who traveled to Tokyo in 2021 but did not compete — has since returned to training with her eyes focused on next year.
“First week back 📈 season 25′ loading..,” Schmidt shared on Instagram last month.
