3-year-old girl mauled to death by ‘vicious’ dogs at Ohio home: ‘I just woke up and my daughter is dead’

A 3-year-old girl was found by her father mauled to death by 100-pound dogs in their Cincinnati, Ohio home two days after Christmas, authorities said.

Kingsley Wright died from a dog attack on Dec. 27, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office — while her father slept on the couch.

“I just woke up and my daughter is dead. There’s blood everywhere, I don’t know what happened,” the frantic father said in a call to 911 dispatchers, Fox19 reported. “I don’t understand what went on.”

The father said that his dogs were locked up in cages while he napped.

“They’re in the cage, that’s why I’m like, ‘Did any of my pets attack her or something,” the father told authorities in a call, according to the outlet.

Kingsley was a bright child who loved to dance and sing, according to her obituary. GoFundMe

Gina Smith, Kingsley’s mother, expressed outrage and disbelief that her daughter was left around giant dogs when she was left in her father’s care.

“I would have not left my baby around vicious dogs. Why would I do that,” she told WLWT.

“Those kinds of dogs are over 100 pounds, so did they just sit on her and then start mauling on her? Did they crush her? And why?,” Josh Justice, Smith’s boyfriend told the outlet.

The breeds of the dogs in question are not known.

Those animals were taken into custody at the scene by animal control and are being held in a state-mandated ten-day quarantine in Cincinnati Animal CARE.

Smith wants answers as to how her daughter could have been mauled to death if the dogs truly were locked in cages.

Cincinnati police are investigating Kingsley’s death, according to local reports.

An obituary for the little girl says Kingsley “loved to sing and dance” and “always saw the positive and bright side of everything around her.”
