Israel-Hamas cease-fire deal proves Trump’s a better prez out of office than Biden was in it
The agreement in principle for an Israel-Hamas cease-fire proves that Donald Trump is a more effective president out of office than Joe Biden ever was while in it.
The nascent deal is far from perfect, of course.
It will follow the deeply unfair principle that sees whole cadres of Palestinian terrorists and terror supporters released for every one innocent Israeli hostage; it outlines no real plan for a non-Hamas government in Gaza.
On the other hand, Israel likely can use at least a breather after 15 months of war while it figures out a long-term approach to Gaza and other security threats.
And Hamas was plainly only willing to come to the table at all thanks to Trump’s threats that “all hell will break out” if the hostages aren’t released before he takes office.
And of his tough stances more generally toward Iran and other American enemies.
Indeed, as Vice President-elect JD Vance put it, “Regardless of when that deal is struck, it will be because people are terrified that there are going to be consequences for Hamas.”
And don’t forget another key fact.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu likely trusts the incoming Trump administration far more than he ever trusted the Biden White House (with very good reason) — a crucial element in any move toward a stepdown of violence.
In other words: Standing strong against vicious terrorist killers instead of bending over backward to appease them gets results.
Trump never cowered before US antagonists.
Remember the apocalyptic predictions that greeted his (entirely justified) killing of Tehran’s chief butcher boy, Qassem Soleimani?
None came true; Tehran bent the knee instead.
Then came Biden, who revealed he was going to pursue the Obama “Make Iran Great Again” strategy.
And look what happened: Iran increased its drive toward regional hegemony, and then Hamas’ Oct. 7 terror assault on Israel.

Standing strong with genuine allies like Israel works wonders too.
The Biden strategy of doing the opposite produced nothing but chaos.
So Joe goes out not in a blaze of glory but a conflagration of shame — as Trump shows the world what real presidential conduct looks like even before Day 1 of his second term.
