BRAVE TINA SHRUGS OFF FEVER

TODAY’S stage and screen divas could learn from Tina Turner. The day before the living legend brought down the house at a packed Madison Square Garden, Turner had a very high fever and was put on oxygen. But Turner, the consummate professional, refused to cancel the show sponsored by Amway Global. Nor did she let down the VIPs – including Anne Hathaway, Molly Simms and MTV honcho Tony DiSanto – who congregated on the Artistry tour bus before the concert. The group was told that when they met Turner, “no one is to shake her hand, and she cannot talk before performing [because of the illness]. She’s very shy.” However, Turner not only shook hands but spoke with each guest. Also there were Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, celebrating their second anniversary, who chatted with Turner backstage.
