I suspect we’re about to enter a very interesting time in Colin Farrell’s career as he returns to starring in the big budget studio films that dominated his early Hollywood days, but have made way for increasingly indie fare in recent years.
While we’ll have to wait until 2012 to watch Colin get his ass to Mars in a “Total Recall” reboot, this year will not only see him as a toupee-clad douche in “Horrible Bosses,” but also feature Colin’s first fanged role in “Fright Night.” The cult classic remake has Colin taking over for Chris Sarandon as lead vampire Jerry in the Marti Noxon (“Buffy” alum, yay!) penned movie. Empire scored these first look photos!
The task of vanquishing Jerry’s band of bloodthirsty marauders falls to Anton Yelchin (so great in … everything) who co-stars with Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and the awesome Imogen Poots — who is a minor PopWrap obsession.
“Fright Night” hits theaters on August 19
