If you ever hoped to see billionaire George Soros dancing to early-’90s rapper and baggy–pants pioneer MC Hammer, Saturday’s Hamptons benefit for his son Alexander Soros’ foundation was the place to be. About 300 power brokers packed into a tent Saturday night at a Bridgehampton farm to raise millions for the Alexander Soros Foundation, which promotes human rights. Guests at the gala, hosted by Hollywood über-director Ed Zwick, included designer Johan Lindeberg, designer and actor Waris Ahluwalia, newly remarried hedge funder Larry Robbins, power attorney William D. Zabel, Stylianos Zavvos, Mary Clemente, economist Dambisa Moyo and “Girls” star Alex Karpovsky. We’re told the highlight of the event was Hammer’s performance, which got even the most serious guests out of their seats.
