Chester Bennington was having fun with family before suicide

The wife of late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington tweeted a video of her husband laughing and carrying on with his family just 36 hours before he was found dead.

The wife of late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington tweeted a video of her husband laughing and carrying on with his family just 36 hours before his suicide — a dire warning that the depressed may not always show how bad they are hurting.

“This is what depression looked like to us just 36 hrs b4 his death. He loved us SO much & we loved him #f–kdepression #MakeChesterProud,” Talinda Bennington captioned the video, which shows Chester, his son and another man hamming it up as they taste-testing oddly flavored jelly beans.

Little more than a day later, on July 20, the 41-year-old rocker was found dead, hanging in a bedroom door in his family’s home near Los Angeles.

The death dealt a crushing blow to the family and the wider music community, coming on the heels of singer Chris Cornell’s suicide in late May. The 52-year-old Cornell was found hanging in a doorway inside his Detroit hotel room while on tour.

Talinda’s post also comes days after Chester’s 15-year-old son Draven made a series of videos during National Suicide Prevention Week urging people to seek help before harming themselves.

“I want to make a commitment that I will talk to someone before I hurt myself when I’m feeling depressed, sad or going through a hard week, month or year — and I want to challenge you to do the same,” the teen said as the Linkin Park song “numb” plays in the background.
