FBI identifies suspect in Kevin Hart’s extortion scandal

The FBI knows the identity of the person who used a sexually suggestive video to extort actor Kevin Hart, according to a report Sunday.

Law enforcement sources said the suspect contacted the star’s reps and demanded up to $10 million dollars to keep the footage under wraps, according to TMZ.

The extortionist is either the woman shown in the video or someone who got a hold of the iPhone that recorded it, sources told the celebrity news site.

Hart apologized to his pregnant wife and family Saturday for refusing to pay off the suspect, who released footage of Hart and a woman getting cozy at a club. The video then cuts to an image of an empty bed and the sound of mattress springs creaking and someone getting slapped.

The FBI knows the identity of the woman of the video, sources told TMZ.

Sources close to Hart refused to say if he went to bed with her. But they said she has had sex with other another celebrity, who may have been the one in the video, according to TMZ.

The video was recorded on an iPhone that was propped against an object in the bedroom, the sources said.

Hart posted an apology video on Instagram Saturday night, saying he has “target on my back” and that someone tried to cash in on his bad behavior.

He said he discussed the threats with his wife Eniko Parrish, and with his two kids by his first wife.

“Sending so many apologies to my wife and kids,’’ Hart said. “I gotta do better and I will. I’m not perfect and I never claimed to be … I love you all. ’’
