Jason Momoa was ‘a full-fledged stalker’ before meeting Lisa Bonet
Don’t call Jason Momoa and new wife Lisa Bonet’s romance love at first sight.
“It was more than that,” Momoa, 38, told James Corden on “The Late Late Show” on Thursday.
“Ever since I was 8 years old — I saw her on TV and I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one.’ I was like, ‘I’m gonna stalk you for the rest of my life and I’m gonna get you,'” he joked. “I’m a full-fledged stalker.”
The couple tied the knot in secret last month after 12 years and two children — 10-year-old daughter Lola and 8-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf — together.
Though Bonet, 49, is well aware of the “Justice League” star’s obsession now, he didn’t lay all his cards on the table right away.
“I didn’t tell her that until we had two babies, otherwise it’d be creepy and weird,” he said, laughing. “I just always wanted to meet her and she was the queen, always.”
He says they met at a jazz club through mutual friends and he “had fireworks going off inside me” upon the introduction.
“I convinced her to take me home because I was living in a hotel,” Momoa said. “We went to Cafe 101, and she ordered a Guinness, and that was it. I ordered grits, we had Guinness and grits, and the rest is history.”
