DJ Khaled celebrated dropping his new album, “Father of Asahd,” with a starry crowd at Zuma New York on Thursday night, an insider told Page Six.
“When the clock struck 12, everyone cheered,” said the insider of the new tracks going live.
We hear the artist, who was dressed head-to-toe in Versace, was joined by 50 guests including his pals SZA — who’s featured on the album — along with Meek Mill, and Busta Rhymes.
“SZA walked in around 1 a.m. and danced with Khaled to their song ‘Just Us’ and Busta Rhymes rolled in around 1:30 a.m.” the source added. “The party was bumping.”
The 43-year-old record producer dined on black miso cod, yellowtail sashimi, a truffle rice pot, and king crab as well as a deluxe dessert platter which included the eatery’s famous chocolate cake.
We hear Khaled had “a private conversation with Busta Rhymes in the beginning where they were hugging, and many thought it might have to do with Nipsey Hussle’s death.”
Nipsey, who died in March, is featured on the new album in the song “Higher” along with John Legend.
We’re also told he gave a speech to toast his new music and those who helped him along the way, saying, “God is great. I appreciate all of you. We the best. I know we work hard but I appreciate your friendship. That’s what means the most to me.”
He concluded, “This is my biggest album. This is for my son, my queen, my family, and my fans. I couldn’t make 11 albums without the support.”
The artist celebrated into the early morning, leaving around 2 a.m.
Other artists featured on the album include Cardi B, 21 Savage, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Meek Mill, J Balvin, Lil Baby, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Future, and more.
Khaled will continue to show off his new music as this weekend’s musical guest on “Saturday Night Live.”
