Dog the Bounty Hunter: I was hospitalized for a ‘broken heart’
Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman says the diagnosis for his recent health scare is a broken heart.
The 66-year-old reality star was hospitalized last weekend with chest pains, which Duane told FOX31 were “really bad,” but are “much better now.”
“I’m going through some psychological things, too, so that doesn’t help,” he added. “I think basically I had a broken heart … it’s going to heal.”
Duane’s rep previously told us Dog is “under doctor’s care and is resting comfortably,” but the former bail bondsman shared with FOX31 that when the chest pains first occurred he “couldn’t breathe.”
“It was like I had ran a three, four-mile run,” he said. “There’s something haywire or it’s psychological.”
Duane’s wife, Beth Chapman, died of cancer at age 51 just three months ago. Dog has been candid about the hardships of his grieving process. He previously told us how he’s struggled to eat during this difficult time.
“Feelings are really strange,” he said in August. “I don’t want to eat something until I’m really hungry because I want to feel something.”
Duane shared that three of his 12 children, including two who “came from Hawaii to be with daddy,” are staying with him in his Colorado home to look after him.
