The stars of the upcoming Harriet Tubman biopic, “Harriet,” held a private screening at the Roxy Hotel in Tribeca for close friends and VIPs.
We hear that Cynthia Erivo — who plays Tubman in the film — as well as co-star Jennifer Nettles and director Kasi Lemmons were joined by Lena Waithe, La La Anthony, former NBA player Emeka Okafor and onetime Obama White House social secretary Desirée Rogers.
Anthony brought her son, Kiyan, 12, and posted, “Loved that this movie taught Kiyan about Harriet Tubman & gave him a deeper look into our history.”
