After Rao’s — the old school, impossible-to-get-into East Harlem eatery — moved into the modern world with online takeout, the hot spot is now also creating a downtown pop-up “ghost kitchen.”
Diners can order Rao’s for delivery till Dec. 18. It’s part of a culinary concept created with Thrillist and Zuul, with upcoming delivery also available from 10 different, in-demand restaurants such as Chinese Tuxedo, Sylvia’s, Caracas Arepa Bar, and Milu through April 16.
The deliveries, which help boost restaurant business during the challenging coronavirus pandemic, include an artist-designed custom T-shirt inspired by each eatery, plus an insulated, reusable bag, cutlery set, and wine tumbler.
Page Six previously reported that Rao’s, known for chef Dino Gatto’s meatballs and other signature dishes, was also donating food to staffers at area hospitals, as well members of the FDNY and NYPD.
