It’s a new day at “Today with Hoda & Jenna.”
On Wednesday, Libby Leist, senior vice president of “Today” and NBC News, named former Tamron Hall show producer Talia Parkinson-Jones as the new executive producer of the fourth hour of “Today” hosted by Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, Page Six has exclusively learned.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Talia to ‘Today.’ Her extensive daytime television experience is matched by her energy and creativity, and we look forward to her joining our team,” Leist said in a memo to “Today” staff.
Parkinson-Jones, a former producer at “The Wendy Williams Show,” fled the “How You Doin?” host’s talk show in 2019 to help launch former “Today” anchor Hall’s nationally syndicated program as a co-executive producer.
Hall famously left the “Today” show after her time slot with Al Roker was given to Megyn Kelly, who eventually got the boot from the Peacock Network.
Parkinson-Jones’ time with Hall was short-lived amid ongoing producer shakeups at the show. She announced her exit in 2020 after showrunner and TV vet Bill Geddie left the show.
Candi Carter, former producer of “The View,” took over for Geddie, but has since quit and inked a new development deal with ABC. Trade magazine Variety reported that Quiana Burns will serve as interim executive producer for Hall.
Meanwhile, in addition to Parkinson-Jones, “Today” veteran Meredith Reis has been promoted to senior broadcast producer. Parkinson-Jones will replace former EP Joanne LaMarca Mathisen, who announced she was stepping down to spend more time with her family in July.
NBC did not comment further.
