Ava Phillippe slams ‘bigoted’ trolls after sexuality comments
Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, has no interest in letting “bigoted” trolls judge her sexuality.
“QUICK REMINDER: I can & will block profiles commenting bigoted/hateful messages under my posts,” Phillippe, 22, wrote on her Instagram Story Thursday.
She continued, “My Instagram profile is not a place for cruelty/hate speech & I intend to do what I can to keep it that way. Peace & Love.”
Phillippe was prompted to shut down the haters after addressing her sexuality earlier this week, sharing with fans that she thinks “gender is whatever” when it comes to who she dates.
“I’m attracted to… people!” she shared after a fan asked in an Instagram Story Q&A, “Do you like boys or girls?”
Phillippe has been dating Owen Mahoney since at least 2019 after meeting at UC Berkeley. They publicized their relationship in June 2021 when Phillippe posted photos with her college boyfriend to her Instagram.
Witherspoon, 45, gave her stamp of approval to her mini-me daughter‘s relationship with Mahoney, commenting on a photo of the couple, “😍 These two.”
Mahoney has been welcomed in with open arms, joining his girlfriend’s family on vacation last summer, according to an Instagram photo posted by Ava’s brother Deacon.
The “Little Fires Everywhere” actress shares Ava and 18-year-old Deacon with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, to whom she was married from 1999 to 2007. She also has an 9-year-old son, Tennessee, with her current husband, James Toth, whom she married in 2011.
