Kathy Hilton reveals secrets to 45-year marriage with husband Rick
Kathy Hilton and her husband, Rick Hilton, recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary — an accomplishment made even more impressive by their longstanding prominence in Hollywood.
Page Six caught up with the woman of the hour at “DIRECTV’s Christmas at Kathy’s” Tuesday night at the couple’s private residence in Los Angeles, where she revealed the secrets to maintaining a happy and healthy marriage for so long.
“I think just — respect,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” cast member told us. “And honesty. And if you’re upset about something, you talk about it right away.”
Another key to her successful union with the hotel tycoon, noted his adoring wife, is being mindful of the company they keep.
“Keeping the right influences, like, the right couples around,” Kathy said, cheekily adding that “a little mystery” in a relationship is just as important.
And finally, the last piece of advice the socialite had for fellow couples was to “never go to bed upset.”
Kathy, 65, shared that she’s been with Rick, 69, “since [she] was 15 and he was 19.”
After tying the knot in November 1979, the pair welcomed four children: daughters Paris Hilton, 43, and Nicky Hilton, 41, as well as sons Barron Hilton III, 35, and Conrad Hilton, 30.
As for how she and Rick keep the romance alive, Kathy divulged on the latest episode of “RHOBH” that she has explicit photos of herself locked away in a safety deposit box at a bank.
The confession came after her half-sister Kyle Richards asked whether she’s ever “sexted” her spouse.
“We have a couple in the safe in the bank,” Kathy replied, explaining that she’s never sent any racy photos via text message.
“Caesars Palace in Las Vegas — they have those beds with the big mirror,” she teased of the steamy images. “Seriously, it’s so sexy.”
The duo also make date night — at the Cheesecake Factory — a weekly priority.
