Mother carries its picture around in her purse and shows it to all the salespeople in the stores, while Father has a copy of his Precious on the desk downtown and does nothing but admire it all day. One day when Mother is shopping the baby gets unruly and the nurse gives it some beans to play with. When Mother gets home she at once telephones her hubby that the baby has two teeth, "toofs" she calls them. Father at once tells the whole office and then sets out to see the toofs for himself. But the people in this world are so unobliging and the car just creeps. The motorman seems to take longer than ever before, in spite of the fact that Father tells him of the wonderful new toofs. At home his excitement knows no bounds and he decides to give a big blowout to celebrate. So all the relatives are summoned and all the preparations are made. They even buy a keg of beer. That night they all arrive and make merry to the full extent of the keg of beer. There is great carousing and as a climax to the evening's entertainment Father proposes that they all go up to see the wonderful new toofs. But when they go to look for the toofs they are not to be found. There must be a conspiracy, and the maid is summoned and questioned. She reveals the true secret. It seems that the child had managed to stick a couple of beans in his mouth so that they looked exactly like teeth. The parents were considerably chagrined, and the guests left. Written by
