Later, Ridge thanks Brooke for shutting down the news story about their baby girl. Macy spends the evening at Bikini Bar again. Keith is worried when he sees Macy getting drunk, but Sly tells him he will take care of Macy. That said, Sly takes Macy upstairs to his apartment despite Keith's protests. Stephanie taunts Sheila that Lauren is going to blow her cover to Eric. Meanwhile, Eric is surprised that Lauren is sounding like Stephanie in her attempt to badmouth his fiancée. Lauren beats around the bush whether she knows Sheila and what she actually wants to say. Finally, in a dramatic last minute stroke of genius, Sheila fakes a phone call from the family court in Genoa City claiming that the judge wants to see Lauren right away because she is ready to make her decision about Scotty's case. Hence, Sheila tricks Lauren into hastily leaving town before she can reveal the truth to Eric. Taylor accuses Brooke of planting the paternity story with the press to make herself look heroic to Ridge. Taylor slaps Brooke when Brooke gloats over being the mother of Ridge's baby.
