Dick is engaged to Diana Jordan, a wealthy widow. But then he discovers that her property may revert to other heirs if she remarries. After a quarrel, Diana breaks off the engagement and demands that Dick return her letters. But creditors have already taken possession of Dick's place. Dick asks Bob for ten thousand dollars and sails for South America. Bob comes east to straighten out his brother's affairs, and meets Diana. She, along with the creditors, mistake him for Dick.
