Zatch takes a fancy to the shiny object and brings it home with him. Meanwhile, a mysterious man with incredible origami skills arrives in town. The next day, a transfer student arrives at Kiyo's school. Shion is a cheerful girl who travels everywhere with her pet cat Nya. Zatch immediately befriends Nya, so Shion asks Kiyo is he wants to walk home together. Shion is grateful to have made new friends so quickly, but her sunny disposition changes when she sees Zatch's mirror, hinting at a dark secret. Just then, the origami man appears with a spell book. Kiyo tells Shion to run away, so they can fight this new mamodo. After she leaves, the man demands they give him the mirror fragment. When they refuse, he takes a pair of scissors out of his pocket, and after he casts his spell, they transform into a mamodo called Cut 'N Paste. Zatch and Kiyo are challenged by their many incredible spells, including multiple scissor attacks and glue that holds Kiyo to the ground. Just as Kiyo is about to be attacked by hundreds of pairs of scissors, he casts the Jikerdor spell, magnetizing Cut 'N Paste, so all the scissors are attracted to him. Kiyo is curious why they wanted a broken piece of mirror so badly, but Zatch is glad to have defended his treasure. Shion returns, relieved they are safe, and the trio walk home.
