The [black man] is successful, and Polidor leaps into the arena and embraces the athlete. On the way home Polidor encounters quite a number of people, and insists on engaging in a bout with each, with results satisfactory to himself. At home he finds the partner of his joys and sorrows in bed, and creeps in beside her. He dreams he is engaged in a championship contest, and commences so weird a series of antics that his wife summons the maids, and a douche of cold water puts an end to Polidor's dreams of athletic greatness.
