A shamed and impoverished Merle takes to the street for help. Tom, who is living out of his car, meets paralyzed ex-tennis champ Eleanor Major and her shy sister Penny. Heather sees a heavenly vision in the town gazebo. The bandages are removed from George's face following a terrible accident at the plant and serious plastic surgery, but Martha faints at the sight of her "new" husband.
