But they still insist on their differences. The corpse starts decomposing, their relationship is being tested and secrets are revealed. Nothing will be the same again within a few hours. "Ashes" is a hidden allegory about the crisis in Greece. With the excuse of an extreme situation, dealing with a death, and with a sense of black humour, versions of the crisis are introduced and represented by the 5 characters of the film and... the dead one.
