It is not the first case of this kind: apparently Jutta Reike is the fourth victim of a serial killer. Micha Oberländer and Hannah Zeiler find out that the victim doesn't correspond physically to the pattern of the other homicides. Is this the crime of a copycat? When a swimmer is run over brutally by a motorboat on the lake, a surprise is awaiting Zeiler and Oberländer: they find evidence in the car of the victim Dietrich Falkner, that he might be the sought-after serial killer. During a house search trophies of the four victims are found. Everything seems to fit, until Zeiler and Oberländer find out that the trophies of the fourth victim are false.
