He was poisoned by mercury, grandmother Edith Jannowitz sees no motive. Beate Urig, Vice President of the organizing Venture-Capital firm which offered deals to some losers, intended to curtail Emil's after finding out his bankruptcy cheated on several creditors. Penniless carpenter, courier and taxi driver Robert Sandmann left anonymous threat notes each time he delivered at Emil Jannowitz's home, being ruined by his fraud.
