Five Days for a New Future

The Asahi World Forum has been a major platform on which the Asahi Shimbun Company practices its motto as a news organization, “Let’s think together and create together”. This year, we will hold the international symposium over 5 days from October 11 (Sun) to 15 (Thu) with a main tile, “Five Days for a New Future”. It will be streamed online and held without physical audiences due to the coronavirus situation.

The coronavirus pandemic has made a huge impact not just on our lifestyle but on international relations and the global economy. Will we be able to get back to our previous normalcy when, or if, the virus scare is over. If we can’t, then what are the things we need to adjust and how should we do so in order to make the world a better place, while living with the virus. We will discuss this question, bearing in mind the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
