A vehicle fire broke out on the M5 this morning, Friday, December 27. Two lanes were closed on the southbound carriageway and there was slow traffic.
According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, the lanes were shut between junction 21 for Weston-super-Mare and junction 22 for Burnham-on-Sea. They reopened and traffic returned to normal by 7.20am.
Inrix says: "Two lanes closed and heavy traffic due to vehicle fire on M5 southbound from J21 A370 (Weston-super-Mare) to J22 (Burnham-on-sea)."
