An emergency services incident blocked one of the main roads near the city centre this afternoon (August 16). The incident has been reported on the A432 Stapleton Road in Easton.
Traffic monitoring website Inrix reported the road, which is also a well-used bus route, was blocked at St Marks Road. A tweet from Travelwest says motorists should use alternative routes.
Avon Fire and Rescue said it had sent crews from Temple and Patchway to support paramedics during an incident. South Western Ambulance Service has been approached for details.

Medical emergency
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We were called at 12:27 to a medical emergency in the Lawrence Hill area of Bristol.
"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance, two units from the hazardous area response team and a responding officer.
"We conveyed one patient by land to Bristol Royal Infirmary.”
Firefighters called out to assist paramedics
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue says: "Crews from Temple and Patchway were called to support ambulance colleagues with an incident at 12.35pm.
"The incident has now been left in the hands of ambulance colleagues with police also in attendance."

An update from the traffic monitoring website says: "Road cleared, earlier building fire on A432 Stapleton Road northbound at St Marks Road."

Bus services unable to use road
First West of England says a number of bus services are unable to use Stapleton Road due to the fire.

Due to a building fire at Stapleton Rd / Easton Way, services will not be able to serve Villiers Road stops or Warwick Road in both directions.
