One person has been taken to hospital after a medical emergency in Bristol. Stapleton Road was blocked by emergency service vehicles in the early afternoon today (August 16) as paramedics, fire crews, and police officers rushed to the incident.
The South West Ambulance service has confirmed two units from the hazardous response team were sent to Stapleton Road but the nature of the incident is unknown. It was initially reported as a building fire before a spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue Service told BristolLive crews had been called out to assist the ambulance service.
One person was taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary, a spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, said. Stapleton Road had reopened before 1.45pm.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, said: “We were called at 12:27 to a medical emergency in the Lawrence Hill area of Bristol.
"We sent a double-crewed land ambulance, two units from the hazardous area response team and a responding officer. We conveyed one patient by land to Bristol Royal Infirmary.”
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue says: "Crews from Temple and Patchway were called to support ambulance colleagues with an incident at 12.35pm.
"The incident has now been left in the hands of ambulance colleagues with police also in attendance."
