Retailers have begun to list job opportunities for units within the new Cotswolds Designer Outlet. The outlet, which is being built near the M5 off junction 9 by Tewkesbury is due to open in early summer 2025, slightly later than the expected date of spring 2025.
So far, Five Guys, Under Armour, and Puma have posted job listings for stores at the outlet. Fast food restaurant Five Guys is seeking an assistant store manager with a salary of £33,040 with an 'achievable bonus' of £6,000 a year and an additional secret shopper bonus of £2,000.
Under Armour is also looking for staff. The company said they're searching for someone ready to join "a high-energy, performance-driven team dedicated to empowering athletes around the world".
There is a position for an assistant store manager to work at Under Armour's outlet store. The company is looking for someone who can be a key player in the store leadership team, supporting the Store Manager in achieving operational excellence and profitability.
It is understood that Puma is also looking for a store manager for their outlet store and is advertising the position 'near Tewkesbury.' The brand wants someone with two to four years of management experience in a focused and customer service service-oriented retail environment.
Once completed, Cotswold Designer Outlet is expected to create up to 500 new retail jobs across more than 55 individual stores and restaurants, in addition to roles in the management and operation of the outlet centre itself.
The outlet, which says it will be dog friendly, will be at Platinum Drive, Tewkesbury. A number of housing developments are also proposed in the area.
On the Cotswolds Designer Outlet website, the vision for the centre is explained as a place: "Where global brands and local materials combine to deliver an inspiring guest experience and a highly successful retail platform. Whilst outlet shopping was introduced into the UK in the early 1990s there has been considerable development and refinement of the concept since its inception. Consumers have become more aware of outlet shopping and expectations have risen considerably from their early off-price origins.
"To build a new outlet scheme for launch in 2025 comes with great responsibility to deliver a stunning retail and leisure experience and a destination that provides compelling reasons to visit and return.
"Cotswolds Designer Outlet will be a place with a wider purpose and deliver on its enormous potential."
