Lily Allen has openly admitted to starting therapy as she grapples with mental health issues and a lack of appetite.
The 39-year-old singer, who recently relocated to New York with her husband David Harbour and their children, Ethel Mary, 13, and Marnie Rose, 11, confessed that she's been attending therapy sessions since the move.
She revealed on her podcast 'Miss Me?' that she's hardly been eating due to a lack of hunger, the Mirror reports. Speaking to her best friend Miquita Oliver, Lily disclosed that this has been an ongoing issue for "a few months".
She further explained that her "eating has become an issue", adding: "'My therapist and I talk about it and she says "How long has this been going on?"
"And I said, "Well, about three years really. " And she's like, "OK, why haven't you mentioned it before? And it's not because I'm lying about it. It's just because it's not seemed at the top of the list of important things that I need to talk about, but obviously it is."
However, she acknowledged its importance. Lily also admitted to struggling with seeing the bigger picture, attributing this to her ADHD diagnosis which affects her ability to make connections.
She added: "And also, my body and my brain are two very separate things to me. I know a lot of people feel those two things are very connected to each other, but for me it's very different. I spend a lot of time in my head, and not a lot of time thinking about my body. "

Lily candidly shared her current struggles, saying: "I'm really not in a great place mentally at the moment, and I'm not eating. I'm not hungry. I obviously am hungry, but my body and brain are so disconnected from each other that my body... the messages of hunger are not going through my body to my brain."
Despite her lack of appetite, Lily clarified that she is not deliberately avoiding food; rather, her overwhelming thoughts are causing her to neglect eating.
The singer has always been transparent about her emotions. In April last year, she spoke about how her responsibilities as a mother sometimes cause her to forget meals.
Speaking to comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster, she confessed her love for food but admitted that there are times when her "stomach [often] goes quite long distances without eating" because she isn't "very good at remembering to do things" like maintaining regular meal times.
Back in 2011, Lily opened up about battling an eating disorder during the peak of her music career. In a Channel 4 documentary, while launching a clothing store with her sister Sarah Owen, she revealed: "There was a point last summer (2009) where I had an eating disorder, I used to vomit after meals. "
She expressed regret over her past actions, stating: "It is not something I am proud of. But I tell you what, a lot of people used to come up to me and tell me how great I looked. And I was on the cover of every magazine with them saying, 'Lily is looking amazing – look how much weight she has lost'.
"I thought I looked good. It was great to try on clothes and walk out of the shop feeling a million dollars. When you have been a victim of people saying the complete opposite, you want more of it. But I wasn't happy, I really wasn't.
"I would like to be the skinniest, mini-est person in the world, but I know I can't do that without being unhappy. I like my food."
