Woman tries see-through dress trend – but declares it's only for the brave
A woman has said there was 'no way' she could participate in the 'sheer dress trend' - but she eventually caved and tried on various different options she had ordered
See-through dresses seem to be all the rage every year – but are you brave enough to try them out?
From sultry black mesh numbers to glittering gold frocks, there's a huge range out there. They can be used as a beach cover-up or worn to the club over a short skirt and bralette, but it takes a certain kind of daring to pull them off.
Danae Mercer Ricci took to Instagram confessing there was "no way" she was going to participate in the trend at first – until she donned various picks she snapped up online, leaving fans to rave about how "beautiful" she looked.
Danae teased: "Online vs reality sheer dress trend... or how I get blacklisted from fashion brands. My fav is definitely the gold one BUT I don't know when I'd ever wear it. What do you think?!"
She started off the video in a fishnet number, which left her baffled and vowing to "definitely" return it since it didn't fit properly.
Next, she slipped into a crochet flower mini-dress, which she branded "cute but expensive".
She then tried out a "gorgeous" gold piece, all sequins and completely see-through – declaring she was "absolutely obsessed with it". However, she admitted it was quite the "daring" choice since her black underwear was on full display – meaning it is not for the faint of heart.
She slipped into another frock, labelling it "sweet and flirty" with its lace bust and floral skirt, but slammed the "horrible quality" as it was riddled with loose strings despite being brand new.
Next, Danae donned a fishnet-style dress adorned with flowers, calling it "halfway cute" yet it was obvious her heart was set on the dazzling gold number.
"You are beautiful", gushed one admirer, while another encouraged: "You look so happy in the gold dress, go for it". However, not everyone was convinced by her wardrobe picks.
A commenter advised: "I think you look (and feel) best in linen. Be aware of the material that is used to make the dresses dear."
Another chimed in: "Honestly they don't fit you, maybe the second one suits you better. Few bodies are enhanced by this type of clothes. I am of the opinion that it is better to opt for what we like but also looks good on, but if you feel comfortable and want to wear them, well, do it!"
