Baby Driver star dies after falling from moving vehicle as tributes paid
Hudson Joseph Meek was known for playing a role in the hit 2017 film Baby Driver, with acting credits also including a role in MacGyver, as well as The Santa Con directed by Melissa Joan Hart
One of the stars of the hit film Baby Driver has died after falling out of a moving car. Hudson Joseph Meek was aged just 16 when he fell from a car on his way to Alabama last week.
According to the Jefferson Country Coroner's Office, he sustained "blunt force injuries", although how he fell has not been clarified. He was taken to hospital, but sadly died two days later. An police investigation performed by the Vestavia Hills Police Department is ongoing, but the death was confirmed on his Instagram account.
A post said: "Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
Meek played "Young Baby" in the 2017 hit film, and his acting credits go back as far as 2014 and include a role in MacGyver, as well as The Santa Con directed by Melissa Joan Hart.
An obituary paying tribute to him states: Hudson was reflective and thoughtful, however he was tenacious when he set his mind to something. He became a certified open water scuba diver at 13 years old and followed that up with an advanced open water certification later that year. He visited all 50 U.S. states and next wanted to visit all seven continents.
"He loved snow-skiing and could easily navigate the hardest trails that no one else in the family would dare attempt. One of his favorite places to be was at the lake, tubing and wakeboarding. Some of the less active achievements he was proud of included video games and binge-watching every single episode of all 36 seasons of 'The Simpsons' and a variety of other shows, many of which were viewed without his parents’ knowledge and probably weren’t appropriate for whatever age he was when he watched them.
"Hudson had a keen ear for great music and was constantly editing “the perfect playlist” for every occasion. He fiercely loved the family dog, “Rosie”, who already knows something is off at home without him and is grieving in her own way."
