He appeared to be heading for a low side at Turn 2.

But Marquez incredibly stopped the bike sliding away from him by swiftly pushing it up with his knee.

Fans couldn’t help but be impressed with the 26-year-old’s antics on two wheels.

“His mechanics must love him - not just for being brilliant, but the amount of work he saves them by bringing the bike back in one piece,” said one fan on social media.

“Marquez and Messi GOAT,” added another.

“Week on week he impresses with the unnatural ability Finding the limit on every corner and when goes beyond still picks it up,” said a third.

“He is superhuman end of,” commented one more.

Speaking in the aftermath, Marquez admitted the incident jolted him into life.

"It was only the second lap of the day and I didn’t expect that but I already had a warning in Turn 1 and a big save," Marquez explained.

"Immediately then I say ‘we need to change the riding style for this circuit’ because we were coming from a different race track and I’d started with the same style….

“But I have that potential to be able to go out on the first lap and be right on the limit of the bike."

Marquez’s team-mate, Jorge Lorenzo, was behind him as he rescued his bike against the odds.

"I think he has a way of controlling the bike that is completely different to other riders," Lorenzo said.

"He knows the bike, he normally has a very low bike and with his elbow, he finds a technique to save a lot of crashes.
