Phillip Schofield brands Holly Willoughby 'the witch' in savage alleged texts

Phillip Schofield has reportedly been using the brutal nickname for his former This Morning co-star and pal Holly Willoughby during text exchanges with his pals

Phillip Schofield has reportedly branded Holly Willoughby "the witch" in alleged texts with pals.

Phillip and Holly used to be best pals and one of the most beloved TV duos in the country during their time hosting This Morning together. But the pair are no longer friends after Schofield admitted to an "unwise but not illegal" affair with a younger male colleague at ITV.

Phillip left ITV in the wake of the scandal and a reported rift emerged between him and Holly. When she returned to This Morning, she told fans she felt "shaken, troubled, let down," and "worried" for the wellbeing of both Phillip and the younger male.

Last year, Phillip revealed he apologised to Holly for lying to her about the affair. He told the BBC: "The last time we had a conversation was when I texted Holly and said, ‘Don’t reply’ – this was after the statement last week – ‘Don’t reply, you’re probably not allowed to, but I am deeply deeply sorry that I lied to you,'"

He said the affair "was the one secret in our sanctuary that was never mentioned”, adding that he has “lost my best friend”. After Schofield's statement about the scandal, Holly said it had "taken time to process yesterday's news," adding: "When reports of this relationship first surfaced, I asked Phil directly if this was true and was told it was not. It’s been very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie."
