It's a tricky task to come up with Surrey's top 10 best places to live. With glorious countryside and quick links to London, Surrey is, of course, a wonderful county to live.

Surrey is so wonderful in fact, Muddy Stilettos named it one of the top 30 places to live in the UK. Our fabulous county shares the list with the likes of neighbouring counties Berkshire and Kent, as well as Gloucestershire, Buckinghamshire, and Devon.

There are almost too many options when it comes to choosing where in Surrey to call home, whether it's a bustling market town or a quiet village. Muddy Stilettos has rounded up and ranked Surrey's best places for 2025 in partnership with Knight Frank estate agents.

Some names on the list will come as no surprise, previously making it to Muddy Stilettos rankings and clearly being top in class in the UK when offering a certain standard of living.

Top 10 Best Places to Live in Surrey in 2025

1. Albury

The number one slot is a new entry in the county's the best places to live lists, but it is easy to see why Albury has been named. Just a stone's throw from Guildford, Albury is completely picturesque and epitome of a quintessential Surrey village.

It boasts gorgeous homes with brickwork modelled off Hampton Court Palace, and has some fabulous pubs, restaurants and vineyards. The schools nearby are great, and so are the links to the capital, which is just under an hour away from Chilworth train station.

2. Claygate

Did you know Claygate is home to the country's oldest village flower show? The Claygate Flower and Village Show attracts thousands of people every July, as does the annual Christmas light switch-on, even drawing in celebrities like Cliff Richard and Mick Hucknall.

Claygate has four pubs nearby and plenty of lovely shops and amenities. National Trust site Claremont Landscape Gardens is also on the doorstep, as is London, which is just 35 minutes away on the train.
