Buses will replace trains along several key lines in Surrey over two back-to-back weekends at the start of October. Engineering Works will affect South Western Railway (SWR) and Southern Rail train services on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6.

These works will take place between Raynes Park and Leatherhead, impacting services to Chessington, Leatherhead, Dorking and Guildford. Rail replacement buses will be in operation, full details of where these will operate can be found below.

The following weekend, further engineering works will take place between Hounslow and Ascot on Sunday, October 13, impacting services to and from Woking. On the same day, buses will replace trains between Guildford, Haslemere and Havant.

Saturday, October 5 to Sunday, October 6

Engineering works are taking place between Raynes Park and Leatherhead, closing some lines. The following services will be affected:

SWR

Saturday and Sunday:

Services between London Waterloo and Chessington South will not run. Replacement bus services will operate:

  • Saturday between Worcester Park and Chessington South

  • Sunday between Wimbledon and Chessington South

Sunday

The following amended service will be in operation:

  • Trains between London Waterloo and Dorking will not run.

  • Trains between London Waterloo to Guildford will start and terminate at Leatherhead.

Replacement bus services will operate between:

  • Ascot and Guildford

  • Wimbledon and Leatherhead / Dorking

Southern

Sunday: Buses will replace trains between Sutton and Epsom / Dorking

Sunday, October 13

Engineering work is taking place between Hounslow and Ascot, closing some lines. The following service will be affected:

  • An amended service will run between London Waterloo and Windsor, and Eton Riverside which will be diverted via Hounslow.

  • An amended service will run between London Waterloo, Reading and Woking which will terminate and start at Hounslow or Ascot.

  • Replacement bus services will operate between Hounslow and Ascot and Windsor, and Eton Riverside and Woking.

Engineering work is taking place between Shalford and Havant, closing some lines. Trains will be impacted as follows:

  • An amended service will run between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour, with some services terminating and starting at Guildford.

  • An additional service will operate between Havant and Portsmouth Harbour.

  • Replacement bus services will operate between Guildford, Haslemere and Havant.

Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October

Buses replace trains between Guildford and Havant on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour. Engineering work is taking place between Guildford and Havant, closing all lines. Buses replace trains between Guildford and Havant.
