Ash Manor School has been closed today (Thursday, November 21) due to a fire. The blaze was within the outbuildings of the Ash school but has caused power outages in the main school building as well.

Surrey Fire and Rescue are on site, and have advised residents in the area to close windows and doors. People should also avoid the area if possible.

The school has said that the fire is at the tennis centre, which is on the same site, and that staff expect the school to be open as normal on Friday.

Photos show that smoke was rising from the outbuilding which has been badly damaged by the fire.
