It was anything but a dog’s life for Godalming ’s precious pets as they found themselves the stars of a new show on Saturday (August 12).
Canines of all kinds gathered with their adoring owners at Aarons Hill Recreation Ground for Dogalming, a dog show and free family fete.
The event, organised by Godalming Town Council, opened with a demonstration by members of charity Canine Partners.
All of the money raised on the day will go to the charity, which transforms the lives of people with a physical disability by partnering them with an assistance dog.
The hotly-contested show included prizes, sponsored by Nestle Purina, for the best puppy, best family, best dressed dog, best veteran dog (aged eight upwards) and the overall prize of best in show.
The fete featured a plant stall, face painting, music, Punch and Judy show, bottle tombola, hog roast, coconut shy, side shows, children’s rides and other entertainment.
