Two reports of missing cats in Guildford have created concerns within the pet owning community. Surrey Police have been made aware of two reports of cats being stolen or going missing in the town last week.
The reports were made in the Park Barn and Bellfields areas of Guildford between Friday August 2 and Saturday, August 3.
These reports are being investigated and other reports have been made to Surrey Police at this time.
These reports come after two cat thefts in Chertsey, for which Carlos Cyrus, 29, of Southall, was arrested on suspicion of theft. He was charged and remanded, and on Saturday, 3 August he pleaded guilty to theft when he appeared at Guildford Magistrates Court. There is no known link to the Guildford cats.
Sadly, Surrey Police are still looking for the Chertsey cats but say it will do all it can to find answers for their owners and to keep them updated.
In Guildford, the police urge anyone who has had a cat stolen from the Guildford area within the last few weeks to report it so they have a full picture of potential offences.
The police would also like to see any video doorbells, CCTV, dash cam or helmet cam footage that might have captured any activity relating to cat thefts over the past fortnight, Officers say any piece of evidence, no matter how small, could be significant.
Any witnesses or people should please DM the police quoting PR/45240088128.
