Further flood warnings and alerts have been issued across Surrey as river levels continue to rise in areas including Leatherhead and Weybridge. The River Wey in Guildford and Godalming and the River Mole near Horley and Gatwick Airport already had cautions in place.
A total of three warnings and four alerts have been issued by the Environment Agency (EA) and are in addition to 10 alerts put in place due to Storm Ciarán. It means that residents have been told flooding is expected in places and to “act now”, while others have been told flooding is possible.
Wind and rain on Thursday (November 3) from Storm Ciarán meant travel was disrupted on trains and there was significant disruption in the A3 near Guildford after a crash. The Met Office has extended its yellow weather warning for rain on Saturday (November 4) and warned heavy rain or showers will fall on saturated ground.

Forecasters at the Met Office said: “Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer.” They added: “Flooding of a few homes and businesses is possible.” The yellow rain warning will be in place for 19 hours from 5am to midnight.

Loxwood, Brewhurst and Drungewick on the River Lox
Residents in Dunsfold have been told flooding is now expected in the area and they should “act now”, according to the EA. A flood warning has been issued that said: “Flooding is expected in this area. This means properties are at risk of flooding.

River Mole at Leatherhead and Fetcham
A new flood warning has been issued for Leatherhead and Fetcham with water levels described as “high” but “falling”, according to the Environment Agency. This is upgraded from a flood alert issued on Thursday (November 2) and means flooding is now expected as a result of Storm Ciaran.
The EA said: “The river level peaked at Leatherhead at 3am this morning and is now falling slowly. Flooding of property is expected to continue for the next 6 hours on Thorncroft Drive. If you have them, continue to use your property protection measures.”
Flood warning for River Wey at Elstead and Eashing
A flood warning has been issued for Godalming and Elstead along the River Wey with properties now at risk. This warning was updated shortly before 5am on Friday (November 3). River levels in Godalming and Tilford upstream and downstream are “high” and “rising”.

Water levels on the Hoe Stream at Woking South are “high” but “steady”, according to the Environment Agency. An alert for the area that affects Pirbright, Worplesdon, and Pyrford Village was issued on Thursday evening (November 2).
Lower River Wey
Flood alerts along the River Wey were extended to include areas near Weybridge, Byfleet, Wisley, and Send. Water levels at Brooklands and Newark Weir are “high” and “rising”, while at Burpham are “high” but “steady”.
River Lox
The flood warning in place for the River Lox near Dunsfold is downgraded to an alert further along the river to Chiddingfold. Here, residents are told to be prepared.
River Thames from Shepperton to Molesey
A further flood alert was issued overnight along the River Thames and impacts people who live in West Molesey, Sunbury, Walton, and Shepperton. Residents have been told flooding is possible and they should avoid using low-lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.

Heavy rain will quickly spread north-eastwards across all parts during the morning, followed by heavy and blustery showers, especially along southern coastal districts, in the afternoon. Temperatures near average. Maximum temperature 13C.
