I was honoured to be invited to speak on the bunker sellers' panel at this week’s IBIA convention in Athens, alongside Keld Rosenbæk Demant from Bunker Holding A/S, Kenny MacLean from Peninsula, Niels den Nijs from Titan and Sifis I. Vardinoyannis from SEKAVIN SA | Physical Supplier & Worldwide Bunkering and Trading to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing our industry. It was very encouraging to hear that we all share a common vision and ambition: to create a more transparent, digitalised, and regulated industry that not only benefits our customers but also supports a sustainable future for our planet. By prioritising responsible practices and innovation, we can reduce environmental impact and set higher standards across the sector, thanks to Katerina Kontou for actively moderating the session. As the IBIA Chairman Constantinos Capetanakis highlighted in his welcome address, the next step is for us to unite and collaborate in turning this vision into reality, advancing these shared goals for the benefit of our industry, our customers, and the world.
