Is your transaction's Asset class a currency? If so, then you need to populate at least one of the fields ‘Exchange rate 1’ or ‘Forward exchange rate’ for EMIR Refit 'Exchange rate 1' requires input of the exchange rate of the unit currency to the quoted currency specified in the derivative transaction. A few good reasons to leave your desk for an afternoon, if you are into OTC derivatives.

Under EMIR Refit, counterparties are to do transaction level reporting and will only be permitted to report at position level where both counterparties agree to do so. The EMIR Regulation requires reporting of all details of a derivative contract as well as any modification or termination of the contract. Under EMIR, reporting at position level is only permissible for the below 3 types of derivatives:  • Contracts for Difference (CFDs),  • Exchange traded derivatives (ETDs) and  • centrally-cleared OTC derivatives. Abaxx Commodity Futures Exchange and Clearinghouse has selected ION’s XTP technology to support its building of new markets for the ongoing energy transition. The Abaxx Exchange, which began trading in Singapore on 28 June, has teamed up with ION to offer robust, scalable, secure post-trade clearing and risk solutions. XTP is crucial for exchange clearing members using the ION technology as it enables them to source all trades via the Abaxx Clearinghouse API and perform account transfers, trade splits, and give-up/ take-up processes.
