This is the first time I’ve seen an admission from any manufacturer that the internal combustion engine on H2 isn’t fully Green. It also is noteworthy to our followers that internal combustion engine vehicles will have to pay fuel duty on hydrogen whilst FC technology vehicles do not! Worth considering when you look to change in your fleet operations.
🚚 The world's biggest truck makers are betting on #hydrogen as part of their #energytransition. While they work on the shift towards battery and fuel cell options, in parallel, some of them are also redesigning combustion engines to run on low-emission #H2 instead of diesel, giving this technology a new lease of life. ⚡ Manufacturer MAN Truck & Bus SE, as part of a first pilot project, plans to deliver around 200 trucks with engines that run on hydrogen to European customers next year, to test in their fleets. ➡️ Of course, this interim, lower-emission solution doesn’t prevent truck makers from investing in developing hydrogen #fuelcells: all technologies will be needed for heavy mobility to get to #netzero!
