Socialite Jocelyn Wildenstein was known as 'Catwoman' thanks to her renowned extreme cosmetic surgery.

However, old photos of the star reveal her stunning natural beauty years before she went under the knife. On New Year's Day it was reported that Jocelyn had died aged 84 after taking "a little nap".

The Swiss socialite - who was famous for her extensive plastic surgeries -died on December 31, and her longtime partner Lloyd Klein has said her cause of death was related to phlebitis, an inflammation of a vein which can be caused by a blood clot or damage to the vein wall.

Prior to her death, the Swiss socialite spent mega money on plastic surgery, which earned her the dubious moniker, after her features became ever more feline like.

Folk around the world are fascinated by the mum-of-two, who, bizarrely, claims she hasn't had much work done. However, Jocelyn's followers were shocked when she recently shared a throwback snap posted on Instagram in which she looks unrecognisable.

Posed to perfection, the socialite looks like a Hollywood siren, with beautiful blonde hair and glamorous makeup. Holding her daughter, Diana, on her lap, Jocelyn smiles contentedly, sporting a chic kaftan, looking a world away from the lady, who hit all the headlines after going under the knife.

She captioned the snap: "Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter Diane Wildenstein". Many of her followers liked the photo, although the star has the comments turned off on all her posts.

Jocelyn's ex-husband, Alec Wildenstein, claimed that the former couple both got some of their respective first plastic surgeries together about a year after they got married in 1978, opting for his-and-hers eye lifts, writes Vanity Fair.

However, after that, mum-of-two reportedly continued undergoing procedures, later claiming that part of the reason why she got some facelift surgeries was because Alec "hates to be with old people."

After several operations over the years, Jocelyn's face earned her the nickname of Catwoman. She told the outlet: "The lynx has perfect eyes. If I show you pictures of my grandmother, what you see is these eyes — cat eyes — and high cheekbones." She denies having excessive plastic surgery, citing her Swiss heritage, but admitted to a multi-million dollar surgery to make her eyes more cat-like

Jocelyn and Alec were together for nearly 20 years and share son Alec Jr. and daughter Diane, with Jocelyn once boasting that the couple usually spent about $1 million every month on their lavish lifestyle. The family seemed content — until Alec filed for divorce in April 1997 with a friend of Jocelyn's claiming: "I don't think I've known her when she wasn't healing from something."

Her throwback snap comes after Jocelyn claimed she was skint after being cut off from her $100million divorce settlement. The mum-of-two gave a rare interview last summer in which she claimed she was broke and had not had any income for eight years after her ex-husband's family cut her off from the nine-figure annual payment she secured in her 1999 divorce.

The reclusive socialite, who is also cruelly dubbed the 'Bride of Wildenstein', won a $2.5billion in the settlement, with $100million allocated for each year thereafter in the split, after she claimed billionaire businessman husband Alec had been unfaithful.

In a June 2023 interview with The Sunday Times, she claimed Alec, who died in 2008, had tried to blame their failed marriage on her, saying he no longer recognised his wife due to her extensive plastic surgeries.

Following news of her death, Jocelyn's long-term partner Lloyd opened up about their last days together.

He told People magazine: "We had a nice happy hour the same night and we were getting ready for the new year, and we took a little nap just to look good before getting dressed.

"Because of her phlebitis, the legs were very, very swollen, and the blood was blocked, and there was no oxygen in the brain.

"And we were having a nap and when I wake up, I said, 'Jocelyn, we have to wake up, we have to get dressed,' and she was cold and she was dead."

Klein admitted it was "extremely sad" to discover his partner - who he had known for over two decades - was dead as they were preparing to celebrate the New Year.

He added: "It's very sad. It's extremely sad.

"It's extremely sad to lay down with your other half that I know for 21 years and waiting to celebrate New Year's Eve and to find her cold."

And he revealed her health had been "perfect" days earlier over the festive period despite her condition, which her grandmother also had.

He recalled: "We were at the Ritz two days ago. We were having dinner. Before that, we had come for Fashion Week at Chanel. Everything was good, everything was good."

Meanwhile, TMZ has reported that Wildenstein had been working on a new reality show just one year before her death. The series - which was being produced by Jeff Jenkins and Chrstine Peters - followed her transition from her roots in New York City to a fresh start in Los Angeles.

It's said filming was completed over a month with the star appearing "happy", "healthy" and "a joy to work with", while the project is in limbo with no broadcaster confirmed as of yet.
