Roman Kemp will be returning to work before the week is up and Capital Radio bosses are hoping his new-found popularity will continue to bring in new listeners.
The 26-year-old reached the final of I'm A Celebrity, eventually finishing third behind Coronation Street star Andy Whyment and winner Jacqueline Jossa.
This has brought him a new army of fans with his social media following trebling from 213,000 to over 766,000 as viewers embraced his personality.
After taking just a few days to luxuriate in the surrounds of the Palazzo Versace hotel after three gruelling weeks in the Australian jungle, Roman is reportedly jetting back to London so that he can take up the reins of the show on Thursday, December 12.
He is hoping that tens of thousands new listeners will tune in after impressing in the jungle.
Roman's co-host, Sonny Jay, surprised him by pitching up Down Under to support him in his bid to win the ITV show.
He has been broadcasting the breakfast show from Australia and appeared on I'm A Celebrity spin-off show, Extra Camp.
Speaking to The Sun, a source said: "Roman was a huge success on I'm A Celebrity with his hilarious impressions and fun attitude in camp."
Previously, Roman has been trying to step out of the shadow of being known as Martin Kemp's son.
The source said: "[I'm A Celebrity] has gave him a chance to prove he's a star in his own right.
"Now the handsome host has been a hit with viewers, a whole host of new listeners could be tuning in to hear him on the radio for the first time."
Speaking to his listeners on Monday morning, Sonny said: "We’re very, very proud of him. What an achievement it has been for him.
"It just seems like he’s had such a journey from the beginning to now."
Roman has been with Capital for five years and will return to present the breakfast show with Vick Hope and Sonny Jay from 6am on Thursday.
