Mel C says it would be "quite nice" to perform solo at Glastonbury Festival.
The Spice Girls star is reportedly eyeing up a DJ slot at next year's festival, away from her girl group co-stars Geraldine Halliwell, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, and Emma Bunton. "It would be quite nice to do it my own," she's admitted.
She shocked gig-goers at this year's instalment at Worthy Farm, joining Orbital on stage for a surprise performance. Melanie appears to have got the bug for taking to the stage without the Spice Girls and now says she'd love to do it all over again.
"I will have some new music out next year. I've only done it once myself, last year. The year before I had DJ'd," she told The Sun. But moving away from her Spice Girls isn't the "ultimate" goal – that's a full-on reunion. "There's room for both me and the girls."
"But with them it would be the ultimate. There's nothing I would like more than to do it with the Spice Girls... but while they're making their mind up, I could. The girls have never been at Glastonbury because it didn't do pop in the Nineties," she continued.
Earlier this month, Mel C certainly added some extra spice to Wimbledon, stepping out with her new beau Chris Dingwall for a sporty date at the tennis. The pop star has made her relationship with the Aussie model and director official, as they snuggled up in the fancy seats at the Championships in southwest London.
Just days after being spotted together at Glastonbury, the pair were all smiles as Mel, 50, donned cream trousers and a blazer, while Chris opted for a black suit jacket, trousers, and a laid-back white tee. They shared laughs courtside and Mel was seen sipping on a Pimm's on the hill during Andy Murray's final match at the famous venue.
Last August, Mel called it quits with Joe Marshall after seven years together. The legendary songstress is mum to 15-year-old Scarlett, whom she shares with ex Thomas Starr. With Mel's latest romance, all the Spice Girls are now happily paired up, though it wasn't long ago that Geri aka Ginger Spice faced her own drama when hubby Christian Horner, the Red Bull Formula One chief, was probed over allegations of "inappropriate behaviour" towards a female colleague, accusations he has consistently refuted. Christian was subsequently cleared of any misconduct.
In a heartfelt chat with the Mirror, Mel B opened up about the strong support she received from her fellow Spice Girls during her darkest times. She shared: "All you can do is be there, just like the girls have been there for me." She went on to say: "But it is horrible to see your friend going through something something that you don't quite know what it is but that's your friend and you want to protect her, no matter what. What us five have been through in the 30 years we've known each other, that's a solid bond."
