Radio host Gemma Atkinson has opened up about her plans for the future with her fiancé Gorka Márquez.

Gemma, 39, has been in a relationship with professional dancer Gorka, 34, for several years after having met when she did Strictly Come Dancing in 2017. The couple, who got engaged three years ago, now have two children together, with them parents to Mia, five, and Thiago, one.

Hits Radio presenter Gemma spoke about her family in a recent interview, where she was asked if she planned to have any more children. She responded by telling Closer magazine: "No! The shop is closed." Gemma added: "I think it's lovely because we've got a little boy and a little girl."

She went on to share that having three children would provide a "lovely dynamic" but said she "wouldn't be able to cope" as Gorka works away "a lot" and she would be on her own with the kids. She teased that it would "be a nightmare" with three kids and said they're "really lucky" as they are.

During the interview, Gemma shared that herself and Gorka are "used" to periods of having a long-distance relationship, particularly due to his role on Strictly. She noted that ten weeks is "nothing" compared to the time some couples are apart.

Most recently, Gorka temporarily moved to Scotland to rehearse with contestant Punam Krishan, 41, whom he was partnered with for the latest series of Strictly. Gorka and doctor Punam made it to the sixth week of the competition, before being voted off the BBC show in late October.

Gemma also teased over the prospect of getting married, noting that their previous plans didn't go ahead after she fell pregnant with their youngest child Thiago. Looking ahead, Gemma suggested that herself and Gorka could get married next year. She teased in the interview that it feels as though they have been "engaged for years now" but added that they are "not in any rush," saying that it's "so nice how it is".

She further shared with the outlet that she's already had a look at "a few" registry offices for their nuptials, following the couple's engagement back in 2021. Gemma commented that their wedding does not need to be "a big fuss".

The actor suggested that the same cannot be said about celebrations for her 40th birthday later this week though. Gemma told Closer that she's going to have a "big party" in Manchester for the special occasion, with pals from Strictly and some of her former Hollyoaks colleagues among the guests for the gathering.
