The galaxy's funniest superheroes are returning for their next big adventure.
The Guardians of the Galaxy are returning for their third film in Phase Four and directed by original helmer James Gunn after he was fired and then rehired for the film.
The line-up will be back with Star-Lord/Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Nebula (Karen Gillan) Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Groot (Vin Diesel), and Mantis (Pom Klementieff) searching for a past version of Gamora (Zoe Saldana) who is now in the present day following the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Endgame also saw founding Avenger and God of Thunder himself Thor (Chris Hemsworth) join the team in his final scenes and suggesting some leadership struggles with Quill that is bound to bring the laughs.
But what else will the plot be about?
According to Twitter leaker Roger Wardell, who has experience releasing info on MCU movies early, has revealed some plot lines from the new film.
Wardell tweeted: "Rocket's creator is the High Evolutionary, Drax is in for a big surprise when he discovers his daughter is alive. Rocket also gets a love interest in the form of Lylla. Nebula and Star Lord will grow into closer friends."
So, there's a lot to unpack there.
The High Evolutionary is a God-like being who has evolved far beyond human form from Marvel Comics who has a close connection to Adam Warlock, a figure teased in the second movie's post-credits scene as being created by Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki).
Lylla, meanwhile, was previously teased in the first Guardians movie as one of Rocket's associates. She is a sentient otter and heiress to a large toymaking empire named Mayhem Mekaniks.
Also, in the comics, Drax's daughter Moondragon plays a pivotal role in space-set adventures and is a powerful telepath and fighter who can pilot spacecrafts. She is also openly bisexual and so could be a major LGBTQ+ character for Marvel.
Finally, it's no surprise that Quill and Nebula are growing closer as they search for past-Gamora, but just how close are they going to get?
We smell a love triangle!
