The content creator spotlight has seemingly shifted away from Ultimate Team in recent weeks, with EA FC 24 Clubs currently the centre of attention – and rightly so.

For over a decade, Ultimate Team was the most popular game mode in EA Sports' FIFA series, and it remains the most popular in EA FC 24. Not only is it the most played game mode, but Ultimate Team is the cash cow for EA, so as expected, a lot of effort and attention has been put into the game mode by the publisher over the years.

While Ultimate Team is the star of the show, another game mode seems to finally be getting the love it deserves, and that's Clubs. After years of receiving what felt like a copy-and-paste game, EA made groundbreaking changes to Clubs for EA FC 24.

A revamp to the Division system and the addition of crossplay has made the most sociable game mode even better, and in recent weeks, content creator team Girth N Turf has raised the profile of Clubs to a new level. Now, more content creators than ever before are playing Clubs to the masses, and all the attention Clubs is currently receiving gives EA a chance to show the community how much they care about other game modes than just Ultimate Team.

Girth N Turf can help change Clubs for the better

Founded by content creators Angry Ginge and Yung Filly, Girth N Turf is a Clubs squad which is trying its best to climb up the Clubs Divisions with a team of Content Creators and well-known personalities. Regular names who feature for Girth N Turf are YouTubers Behzinga, Bateson, Danny Aarons, PieFace, darts sensation Luke Littler, and British musician Aitch.

Girth N Turf started streaming in March this year, and since starting, big footballing names such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aaron Ramsdale, and most recently Wayne Rooney have all appeared in the stream, either playing with Girth N Turf or against them with a team of their own.

Along with Girth N Turf, a host of other big content creators have started to livestream Clubs, and for the first time in a long time, Ultimate Team isn't the only popular game mode in EA FC 24. Girth n Turf has also organised a Clubs tournament amongst other content creator teams called Champions of the Turf, which is once again attracting more attention to the game mode.

I think Clubs has always been the best game mode, but the one thing stopping it from being even better is EA itself. There's still so much room for improvement in Clubs. Despite the game mode being the most fun and most social, at times it has been riddled with bugs and glitches that can remain unfixed for weeks, while with no regular updates, players are left with not much to play for once they reach the top division.

So, when you compare it to a game mode like Ultimate Team, which has daily content updates and various ways to play, it does feel like we've barely scratched the surface of how good Clubs can be. This is why with the attention Girth N Turf is bringing EA FC 24 and Clubs right now, EA has the chance to capitalise on the buzz and show the community that there's more to life than just Ultimate Team in EA FC 24.

From a developer point of view, EA is limited to what they can do in the short term, so don't expect new game modes to appear in Clubs in the coming weeks, or even EA FC 25 for that matter. But, with the attention that Clubs is currently getting, it may force EA into fixing bugs quicker and ensuring the game mode can remain bug-free for longer, rather than pushing it to the side to focus on Ultimate Team.
